Artifact Collection
The three dimensional artifacts in BECHS's permanent collection consist of over 18,000 objects, preserving the broadest culture presentation of Blue Earth county history. The collections has evolved to reflect, document and illustrate the history and development of Blue Earth County's past. Most of the objects in our collection are donated by individuals and families, people who want to make sure Blue Earth County's story, and their own, are never forgotten. Objects in the permanent collection include:
- Clothing and items of personal use
- Textiles such as quilts and blankets
- Artwork
- Household furnishing and furniture
- Tools and equipment used in Agriculture
- Tools and equipment used for communication such as music, photographic and telecommunications
- Native American objects
- Advertisement, promotional and documentary items
- Recreational artifacts such as games, toys and sports equipment
- Military uniforms, personal gear and equipment
