Blue Earth County Century Farms tells the stories of agriculture in this county through the eyes of the farm families who lived it.  Between 1976 and 2004, 178 farms in our county have become registered Century Farms.  Through the pages of this book, meet these families and learn their stories.

Blue Earth County Historian 2001-2005 The Blue Earth County Historical Society, $11.95

This is a compilation of all the primary articles in the quarterly newsletter from the winter of 2001 through the fall of 2005. Some of the nearly twenty topics covered are the history of Minneopa Cemetery, the first settlement of Blue Earth County, the Winnebago, Lebanese Immigration, Century Farms, Diners and Restaurants, Schools, 1930's stories of first dollars earned, and early Blue Earth County Women Veterans.

This booklet contains information on Blue Earth County and its townships.

Cut Nose Who Stands on a Cloud, Loren Dean Boutin, North Star Press of Saint Cloud, $14.95

This is Boutin's new, first book about the life of a leading Dakota warrior, Cut Nose Who Stands on a Cloud, in the Dakota uprising of 1862 who was hung in Mankato the day after Christmas of that same year along with 37 other Dakota in the largest mass execution in the history of the U. S. government. Boutin's book is not only an exploration into the life of Cut Nose, but is also a historical account and analysis of the aftermath of that event.

Meet the Hubbards, Beth Zimmer, Blue Earth County Historical Society, $14.95

This recollection of the life and history of R.D. Hubbard and family explains some of the motivators behind New Englanders' emmigration from the places their ancestors had lived for generations and the migration routes that they took to get to what is now Minnesota. Mary Esther Cook Hubbard must have breathed a sigh of relief when they finally settled in Mankato. Old Rail Fence Corners, Frontier Tales Told by Minnesota Pioneers, Edited by Lucy Leavensworth Wilder Morris, Minnesota Historical Society Press, $16.95
