Ruth Roberts To Ferry Army
Planes As WASPs Member
Ruth Roberts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Roberts, 707 Baker avenue, received her wings in brief graduating exercises at the WASPs (Women's Air force Service Pilots) at Sweetwater, Texas, last Saturaday. Her graduation marked the culmination of six months of the most rigid training ever offered women aviators.

Through her graduation Miss Roberts is now qualified to take part in some of the ferrying duties of the army air corps, releasing badly needed army pilots for front line duty.

Miss Roberts majored in physical education at the University of Minnesota and was associated with Sears Roebuck company at the time of her acceptance by the WASPs. She began flying with the CPT program in 1941 and holds a private pilot's license.
