The Sakatah Singing Hills Trail is a 39 mile path the goes through the Sakatah Lake State Park. The paved path has many entry points throughout the trail, including 2 in Blue Earth County.
This trail begins off Lime Valley Road, near Highway 14 in Mankato and travels through to Interstate 35 in Faribault.
The trail was once used as a railroad line for what was eventually known as the Chicago & Northwestern line, but was abandoned in the 1970s. It was then that many snowmobilers used this path as a trail to ride along. This path was acquired by the state in 1980 and was an unpaved path until 1990. The path was fully paved by 1995 and is open year-round.
Whether you visit the trail on a nice day during the winter months, or wait for a sunny spring or summer day, the paved trail welcomes visitors all year long!
