Farming Among the Sioux Indians

In 1849, the superintendent of farming for the Sioux living in the Minnesota River Valley filed a report on agriculture in the new territory of Minnesota. The author describes the article as a fascinating account of the food cultivated by the Indians and its “procuring, cooking and curing for use.”
